subsistence Allowance

Is there a definative list of claimable allowances?

I've recently started my own company and as part of my work I work
both in the UK and Ireland. The company is registered in the UK and
money is paid into a UK Business account (in sterling).

I have found the milage allowance calculation and daily subsitence
rates but so far have been unable to find Overnight Subsitence
allowances.

Any links to the HMRC website would be very welcome.

I suggest you put the following into Google

overnight subsistence site:www.hmrc.gov.uk

start with the first hit, and read on until you have had enough.

I have read the 480 and 490 documents from this website and discovered
that oversease overninght incidental expenses are £10 per night. But
what I have failed to find out is if there is a similar amount for
daily subsitence when working abroad or if I just need to claim for
cafe bills etc.

If this is the case, and I rent a property for the time I am here - I
won't be eating out but cooking my own food, how would I then document
this?

From the time you are here! surely that means that you are working in
the UK. So you are not abroad and the Personal Incidental Expenses
Allowance is only £5 per night provided this is in respect of travel to
and from a temporay place of work.

I was only including the time when in Ireland as I work from home in
the UK (although somtimes work away). Have spoken to the local tax
office who have told me it may be worthwhile asking for dispensation
and completing the p11dx which I will be doing later
