Surviving OS fresh re-install

My Windows XP MCE needs to be reinstalled because it's acting funny(due to
hardware problem). After replacing the motherboard, I'm going to reinstall
the OS by wiping the HD.

My question is, what is the best way to migrate the SBA 2007 Pro from the
current OS install to the new install? It seems like i need to do something
with the SQL server, etc.

Please help.

thank you.

Hello,

The best thing to do would be to create a backup of your current company,
and then reinstall windows, then reinstall MOA, and then restore that backup
of your company.

You can do this by going to File > Utilities > Data utilities in MOA and
then select backup. You will want to save it to a jump drive or some other
external drive for safe keeping.

Then go ahead and reinstall windows, and once that is complete reinstall MOA
and then when you open it up and get that start page, click on the restore
option and locate the backup you created and continue with the restore. Once
that is done, if you recieve an error stating that the company is newer then
the application, you will need to go to www.microsoft.com and click on the
downloads and trials, then Downloads center, then do a search for Office
Accounting sp1 and download and install that.

Hope that helps

In addition to the below (which is a great answer), if you use Word
Templates, or if you saved any files from Office Accounting to Word or Excel
files that you want to keep, make sure you copy those over as well.

Thank you very much, Nick and Mattias!

That solved the problem.

I thought i had tried this solution before i asked, but it was giving me
some errors. I suppose i didn't do it right the first time.

Once again, thank you both and i will move those templates to be sure.
