Sweet Merciful Jesus... Quickbooks is slow...

Vent on...

Is there slower software than Quickbooks latest incarnations? I recently
migrated from QB99 to 06 and SWEET LORD ALMIGHTY, reports that used to
take ten seconds take MINUTES now.

Running a sales tax liability report is now slightly less enjoyable than
a scrotum peel. Don't make the mistake of clicking on part of it either
- it has to regenerate the WHOLE THING again. They should rename the
dialog window from Building Report to Building Pyramids.

Sigh... anyone bail on QB have a recommendation for small business
software that does roughly the same thing, just in a reasonable amount
of time?

Vent off...

Peachtree is available as an alternative but when the changed the database
in 2007 it too became extremely slow. I hear the MS accounting software is
just a PITA so I won't go that route.

A faster computer is cheaper than replacement software. Not even counting
the learning curve.

Here's a 1.5MHz machine for $398. 'Course you'd have to replace the Vista OS
if you're planning on running QB06.

Are you still using the machine you purchased back in 1999? I personally
have never experienced a slow down in QB because I upgrade both hardware
and software. How large is your data file?

My machine is a 1.7 GHz with one gig of RAM. QB 2007 is
slower than molasses in January. Such is life with Windoze.
Oh for the days of Visicalc on DOS 6.2.
