USA Tax liability

I have a consulting company. I am working with a client that wants to make partial payment for my services by paying me with stock or give me the option to buy stock in the company or get paid out right. I know the industry of my clients very well and I know the numbers and the plan that the company has and see a great opportunity for a high return on investment. It would be advantageous to their cash flow to pay me in stock. I am curious about thoughts on doing this and some of the ramifications versus being paid in cash?
