The DWP are fiddling my ESA.

Long story short, they owe me money, but deny it. With all the arsing about
pending appeal, ESA payments were some what erratic and varied.

A simple calculation tells me the DWP are well short of the mark.

I have been claiming ESA for 30 weeks exactly, payable at 128.60 per
forthnight.

Now it does not take a genius to work out how many payment days that adds up
to, 30/2 = 15 x 128.60 = £1,929.00

The amount of ESA actually paid into my bank ac over this 30 week period,
when added up, comes to £312.00 less.

As I say, I have brought this to their attention, but they say my payments
are correct.

I seriously think someone in the DWP is on the fiddle, where do I go next?

Is the ESA payable between when they make a decision and when they
accept your appeal as having been made?
It looks like about 17 days payment. Is that what you've worked it out
as too?

I worked it out wrong, bollocks! never mind, I was half right, I was owed a
few quid.

Spoke to a lady on the phone at Coshthem, very polite and actually helpful
for a change, to my surprise. Anyway she gave me the low down and it looks
like it is almost right, only 43.20 off in the end. Not so bad afterall.

She worked it out as follows, the first 5 weeks at the old rate £60.50 =
302.50 and 25 weeks new rate 64.30 = 1607.50 total £1910.00 for 30 weeks,
Actual ESA paid comes to £1866.80
