Thinking about becoming a CPA

Granola Bar

For any of you with experience I have a question. I'm thinking of
pursuing a career in accounting and getting a CPA license here in
California. Currently I have an MBA but shy 16 units in account with
no accounting work experience (I come from an IT background). However
I've been thinking about taking 16 units and getting an accounting job
under a CPA which I could use too fulfill the 1 year experience
requirement. Do you think going back to school and doing this would
be foolish? You're commits or suggestions would be much appreciate.
