Track non-billable as expense

From time to time in hvac, I have a service call that is a warranty
job for which the customer doesn't actually pay for. How can I track
labor that was lost on this call w/o actually showing up as the
customer owing me money. This does not involve employees. Just my own
time (owner). Thanks in advance!

There is no actual "transaction", therefore nothing to track for
either accounting or tax purposes. Keep a diary or journal.
