Tracking Mileage

I need to be able to tracking mileage to and from my customer locations. I
haven't been able to find a way to do this in my Office Accounting 2007. Is
there a way to do this?

Hi scotthi,
You would need to create an item "mileage" and use a line item (select
Mileage) to track this expense.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking me to do. If I creat another
item, it will be either created as a service, inventory or non-inventory
item. How is this going to track an expense for mileage which I don't charge
my customer? I am attempting to track my mileage for the purpose of filing my
taxes.

Hi Scott,
Do you have your "mileage" built into your cost per item? Also, as of
tomorrow in the US you can charge 58.5 cents per mile.
In our buiness we have an item "mileage" as a line item for
deliveries/services after a certain $ amount. Line items or expenses entered
can be tracked for tax purposes.

Yes, I do have my cost built into the cost per item. I have been guestimating
my cost right now. It is due to the changes in rates that I am trying to
understand how to setup the tracking of mileage. I just received the notice
of 58.5 cents per mile and felt this should be broken out for tax purposes. I
will see if I can figure out how to set it up the way you have mentioned.
