Tracking non-billable mileage

Michael

Hello!

Thinking of using a journal entry for tracking miles driven to each
job. They are not billable, just want to know how many miles I drive.
Using QBPro2002. Would you suggest another way to track the mileage?

Apprecite your time.

It would be easier to use a spreadsheet or a paper "auto expense log".

Paper? What's that!

I admit it would be easier, but not nearly as much fun!
Thanks again for your time.

If your looking for fun they upgrade to QB 2004. This version has built in
auto milage recording and reporting.

....100 times more costly than a Dome (brand) Auto-Mileage Log...

I can do this for *free* in Pro99 BTW; OP probably can too... Create an
'Item' (or Two, like business and personal) for 'Mileage' E.g..
Businessmiles and Personalmiles; assign a price for each like $0.365
(for reimbursable mileage) or Zero as in the case of personal miles you
just want to track; memorize the transaction for convenient reuse.
Enter actual mileage as quantity. Pull an appropriate report for the
totals. No big deal; no 'upgrade' required; since *every* version of
QB AFAIK will do this easily...
