TT State Rebates not available at Wal-Mart, Sams or Target

Anyone notice this on the TT State rebate this year. I do not shop at the
Wal-martians stores, but I do shop at Target and have looked at the display
there and see no warning; 'course no mention of a rebate either. ;)

eligible for this promotion** To be eligible for this rebate, follow the 4
steps below: 1. Purchase your TurboTax State product for tax year 2003 on or
before 4/15/04.

I'm guessing there's nothing terribly fishy here--they're likely have
about scores of flavors of rebate and a lot of different deals with
distributors to effect various pricing and profit mixes for individual
retailers. The customer gets confused, and these retailers prolly get
the honor of advertising very very low prices inthe Sunday newspaper
ads in return.

For what it's worth, in the retail box of turbo tax deluxe I bought at
Circuit City, for instance, none of the rebates in that box mentioned
store exclusions, including the rebate for the state product (which
was 03-63894). But the link you provided appeared to suggest that
same offer code.
