As its nearing tax time, I thought I'd share my $.02...is that
deductable as a charitable contribution???...about the at-home tax
softwares. I have used turbotax and was fairly happy with the results.
But this year the tax preparation impetus struck me at 11 pm on a sunday
night. After a google search led me to a Tax Brain page, I looked around
on their site and decided to give it a go. I set up my account and then
went through their screens. I was in bed my midnight with my taxes
filed. It was so nice to be able to do it from home, and the fee was
totally reasonable. It was also nice not to have to download anything
onto my already "crowded" machine. Bottom line, if your earnings are
pretty straight forward and you don't have any complicated deductions,
you can be on and off with Tax Brain in no time.
