UK VAT

This may be simple, but I just can't work out how to
handle VAT on Money 2004/UK.

a) My income includes VAT, but the Transaction when
downloaded/imported has the VAT entry box disabled in
the "Edit Transaction" dialog, even if I select a
previously VAT-enabled Category.
b) Some expenses include VAT, but, again, the VAT entry
box is disabled in the Edit Transaction dialog box.
c) Running the VAT reports does show that I have setup my
categories with 17.5% VAT, however, the VAT column in the
report is 0.0...

The non-existing help in the issue (when searching under
VAT, or pressing Help when the "Edit Transaction" dialog
is up) is quite surprising given how well documented the
Office product line is.

Any assistance appreciated,

Thanks,

Toni.

Three things you need to do:

go to tools->options and enable the VAT option in there
go to the account details and enable VAT for the specific account
go to the category and put in a VAT rate for the category.

The box should be appearing then.

It was the 2nd one that I didn't think of... and the
provided help seems to be sparse on country-specific
details and only defines the term VAT.

Thanks again! It's all working wonderfully and producing
the simple quarterly output needed.

Regards,

Toni.
