unable to open money file

I have just installed money 2005 on my vista system and I have a small
problem.

The problem is when I open the said file it says that the file needs to be
upgraded. When I click the button to go ahead it fails every time?
I have experienced this before, and have managed to sort it out; the trouble
is I can not remember what I did to get the money file to open?
I wondered if any one else had this problem and what did they do to sort it
out?

Any help or advice will be gratefully accepted.

As Vista is still in beta you should not be surprised. This a common problem
with using Beta software. It works fine for some people but for others...

The trouble is Bob I had the same problem in XP.

I did manage to get the file open in XP, but I can not remember what I did
to get it to open?

I had the same problem under W2K. The clue for me was to install Money
2005, create a new temp file and then let Money update itself from the
internet.

After that I could open my moneyfile.
