US CPA become Canadian CA

S

Serhat

I am an American CPA and am interested in becoming a Canadian CA.
Does anyone know what the process is and how many additional
exams/courses I will have to take.
Anyones insight on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Contact the Institute in the province(s) in which you are interested.
Each has a website.

Also note that the CA designation may not automatically confer a
Public Accountant's Licence - you should also check this with the
Institute(s).

Licensing is undergoing significant change is some provinces, notably
Ontario for one, so check with authoritative sources and be sure to
get current information rather than relying on answers you might get
here.

I think you must first swear allegiance to the Canadian flag.

I've done some research into this issue and found that the CPA
designation is valid in all areas of canada due to the provisions of
the secret agreement whereby canada is simply renting its land from
the United States of America.

we have a very simple plan.
first we wait for the americans to totally mess up their water resources.
then we turn off their electricity.
then we take over.
:)

ps: american accountants with valid designations can immigrate to canada,
then you only have to take the test over again to be either a cma, cga, or
ca.
come with your own insurance. no sponsor required, you don't need to show
proof that you have a job waiting here etc.
certain professional groups such as doctors/nurses, engineers, etc., can
have the same quick entry.

But Clive Cussler novels have kept getting worse and worse...

(He was the one that proposed a scenario where Canada actually
belonged to the US, and, once the paranoia played out, they renamed
the combination to "The United States of Canada".)

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is
suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best
friends. If they're okay, then it's you. -- Rita Mae Brown

I can certainly understand the desperate need for doctors and nurses
in Canada due to the socialized medicine system imposed their. Your
best and brightest doctors have probably fled to the U.S.
