Having recently separated from the USAF after 10 years of service and being stationed in CA the entire time, aside from frequent deployments, I was a legal resisdent of NC due to Home of Record. Now that I'm out, married, have a child, and will be working overseas as a contractor, I will neither be residing in CA nor NC. I currently live in CA for a short time before moving overseas and my job is based out of NH but is only a P.O. box business address.
My wife's family is in CA and some mail will be forwarded there, but I will be in a tax-exempt location attached to the military. To avoid CA taxes as we won't live there, where should/can I take up a legal residence for tax purposes??
