Using QB payroll and need alternative

Hi,

I've been using QuickBooks for my small business since the beginning. We're a small company with just a few employees, and they're raising their prices to $43/mo for their "Enhanced" payroll processing, plus tax, plus direct deposit fees, etc. This includes the actual payroll processing plus support to e-file the 927, 941/940, withholdings, WR-30, etc.

This is just too much for one or two employees. Are there cheaper ways to do this? I believe there are other mechanisms which work with QuickBooks/Intuit?

I recall when I first started my business I would have to drive to the bank to do the payments, etc. This involved the accountant having to then process all the payroll and tax records. I realize paying less than $50/mo is cheaper, but money is tight, and was just looking for alternatives.

Thanks for any ideas.

Here in South Africa, Sage offer an excellent and economical cloud-based payroll system. Sage is international. Perhaps they have something similar in your country.

Find a local company to handle payroll for you. Do not go with ADP or Paychex or any of the big corporate payroll companies.
