Hello all,
I am a student in my final month of university, I have recently set up my own company (I am a Director) and am hoping to purchase my tech equipment needed for my company to start trading in the next week. The question I have is if I use my student discount to get the equipment do I still qualify for a vat rebate in April? I have been told by the retailers at Apple that this may not be possible so am slightly confused and don't want to start off on the wrong foot. Thank you for your time.

f you use the student card, it is under your personal name, meaning your purchase is for your personal use. For the company to book the asset under its name the invoice should be made to your company, hence if your company is registered for VAT, only then you can claim.
