Hi, when I calculate my wage percentage I use the following
=H57/H59*100
gross sales divided by staff wages times 100.

Should I be using =(H57/(H59/1.2)*100)

Why would i take the vat off?

thank you

You're referencing a spreadsheet that nobody else can see.

It also looks like your calculation is the wrong way round. You should be dividing wages by sales x 100 to get an idea of the % of sales that is eaten up by wages.

Asides from that, include or don't include VAT depends upon whether or not the company is registered for VAT. If it is registered, then don't include because there's the ebb and flow of input/output VAT going on. If not registered then include because the ebb and flow of input/output VAT doesn't happen.
