What software will let me mark expenses as billable

OK, maybe I have been spoiled by big accounting packages, but I am
used to being able to mark an item on a P.O., vendor invoice, or AP
disbursement as billable to a client when I input it and then have a
mechanism when I run the invoices to insure that all billable expenses
actually get billed.

I have tried a couple of PC based packages (Simply Accounting 9.0 eval
was the most recent) and can't see a way to do that. Now that I am
consulting (which is a synonym for unemployed) I really want to make
sure that an expense like hotel that I pay for gets billed. Are there
any low end packages that'll do that? Anyone know a way to do it in
Simply Accounting?

Thanks,
David

Peachtree (older) used to have a way to do that with "job costing." As long
as you assigned an expense (or income for that matter) to a job, it would
all get tracked by the job code. I'm sure they still have something like
this.

Just checked, and you need Peachtree Complete Accounting 2004 or better to
get job costing.
