Hi, have a situation where the local authority needs to serve an environmental abatement order on a person(s) running a business. Their web site does not identify who the business owner is. The owner of the land is known but is not resident in the UK. The land owner and his heir are shareholding executive directors and the rest are non executive directors in an incorporation that is active with companies house but is not trading, i.e its dormant.
There are three such dormant companies registered at the land owners address. The suggestion is that they may be sole traders or a partnership. The dormant company is likely to have been set up to protect the land asset from creditors of the business. Can the local authority approach HMRC to find out who the entity or individuals are at the registered address which happens to be the same as the land owners.
