Windows 7 installation

Have tried to install Money 2005 on W 7 RC1 32 bit and keep getting the
message "autorun.inf missing or corrupt". Have enabled autoplay for software
but this makes no difference. Anybody have this issue and have a workaround?

Thank you Glynn. I have now found the issue - the Access Control setting in
Kaspersky must be set to allow Autorun and Autorun.inf.

Also discovered that Money can be installed by using the mnyinst.exe file in
the Money folder thereby bypassing autorun and setup.exe.

Pleased to report that Money appears to run perfectly in both W7 32 and 64
bit versions.

Can I ask which version of Windows 7 you are using? Unless absolutely
necessary, I don't wish to buy W7 Professional just to get XP mode for
running MS Money 2004.

Hello Knightrider, I am using Windows 7 Release Candidate 1, 32 bit, build
7100. This is Windows 7 Ultimate. The XP Mode is the compatability setting
for running the programme. It is NOT the XP virtualization mode only
available in W7 Ultimate and Professional.

I definitely did not use the "XP virtualization mode" because I have not
loaded it yet and my processor does not support virtualization anyway.

I think you should be OK in any version of W7. Just right click on Money
setup.exe and run the programme compatability checker. It should recommend
using the XP SP2 setting. Worked fine for me.

Money 2004 installs runs under x64 Windows 7 (and x64 Vista and x64 XP).
It is just another 32-bit program and needs no system level drivers.

For me, compatibility mode has never been needed under any x64 Windows.

Thanks to both Alan K and and Dominic Payer. This has given me the
confidence to buy W7 Home Premium rather than Professional on my new PC.
