USA What percentage of employer costs should be included in bonus accrual amount?

Hi,

Basically the title. We are looking to establish an accrual amount for employee bonuses but unsure on what percent we should include for ER costs. Our previous accountant accrued for 12% on top of bonus amount, I am unsure how they got to this figure as from what I can find, ER costs are usually 7.65%.

We are UK based so have limited knowledge of US ER costs, if anybody can help me with this it would be great!

If previous acct accrued at 12%, look at the actual amt paid and see if the 12% was close to the actual %. If not, adjust the accrual % for the current year.
