Thanks for taking the time first off.

I'm wondering how my taxes will go this year. I have claimed head of household, myself +1. So 3. would like to claim my fiances daughter as I am the bread winner.
Now my problem is that when I was younger I wasn't very great at paying bills, so I had been served a couple of time and owe money to some places.
I have matured a lot and been taking care of some bills like student loans, but there are still some I havnt touched.

Wondering if I can claim her, and also if my refund will be taken from me for the past due.

There are 4 tests in your case re: if your fiance's daughter can be a "qualifying relative"
1) she can't be your child (else you'd simply just claim her as your child)
2) she had to live with you all year as a member of your household
3) she could not have had gross taxable income of over $3,800 (for 2012)
4) you had to provide more than 50% of her total support for the year
you must meet all 4 tests.
and refund might get taken if the student loans are past due or you have past due irs taxes
