As part of a non-charity association, annual dues include a magazine. The portion of dues attributable to the magazine cover price is classified as subscription revenue, the remainder as Membership dues. There is a contingent of members that wish to forgo the paper version of the magazine and only receive the electronic version (members receive both currently) with the savings from not printing the magazine designated for donation to a particular foundation (or possibly set of foundations).

Outside sales of the magazine are de minimus and there is currently not a tiered pricing structure for electronic and print versions.

Presuming there is even enough savings to generate a meaningful donation (there most likely isn't), I presume dues revenue would need to be further biforcated into temporarily restricted contributions, specifically identified by member election to forgoe the hard copy. Further an electronic "price" for the magazine would need to be calculated and compared to the paper "price" to obtain the value of the donation.
