I'm currently studying level 2 manual bookkeeping (ICB) and find myself confused by the layout of vertical trading, profit and loss accounts. I understand the horizontal layout, but am totally confused by the logic behind the 3 column vertical format.
Can anyone explain what dictates which figures sit in which column?
