Do residents and/or non residents of Philadelphia who are simply employees of a business working in the city (NOT business owners themselves) required to pay either the BIRT or NPT tax in Philly?

Because if they do, Bryce Harper should rethink the deal he just got!! But I digress. Thanks in advance for any/all help.

Not an expert on Philly law but I understood those taxes to be business related so not sure it matters. Either way, I think Harper has more than enough money to cover if exposed to it not to mention his promotional activities. I wouldn't feel bad for the guy.

Employees of a business located in Philadelphia pay the City Wage Tax. The exact rate is based on if you live outside the city or in the city--ranging from around 3.4% to almost 3.9%.
