Im trying to get my head around this:

I have a UK Vat Reg company who sells an Equestrian Breeding product, when i do i apply the rate of 20% vat, however I have noticed that a number of my competitors are applying the Dutch Vat rate of 6% to the same products, ( all products are sold in euros) how are they doing this and is this something i could do also, it is beginning to price me out of contracts.

if tis is possible what are the pro's and con's

would really appreciate a steer on this

regards

I'll preface this by saying VAT is not my area of expertise... If your competitors are charging Dutch VAT I assume they are registered for VAT in Holland...? Without knowing more about their business structure (ie place of supply, where they are based etc) it's hard to know for sure, and like I said I don't know a great deal about VAT. Are your customers VAT registered? If so you may not need to charge VAT at all. Check out this guidance:
