Hi,
I am working as a consultant for company X, on 1099 form, but using my social security number. I do not have a company set up.
The company X is paying me weekly based on the hours worked at their location.
My question is: what expenses may I deduct when I'll file my taxes? May I deduct the gas I'm using? What about lunches? or office supplies?

Appreciate your help.:)

Gas (actually this is mileage expense which is figured as miles traveled times the IRS mileage rate) used when commuting to work is non deductible. But if you have to travel to some location for your client then that is deductible. Your own lunch is nondeductible. But if you take a client to lunch for business purpose then that is deductible. Office supplies are deductible.
