This is a Contractor Company and my boss wants to start a electronic files for all the documentation in the accounting department. I am wondering if this is a good idea in the case we have an audit request in the future.

In my opinion it is very important to have a hard copy available.
Advice please.

well, once you print from the electronic file you will have a hard copy. But if you can work without hard copy you save on paper and toner (lots of $). Plus you have to store and protect the paper (file cabinets $$) . Why do you want to keep data on paper?
