UK Company in compulsory strike off action but still trading

I'm working with a company that is in "compulsory strike-off action" at companies house for not filing accounts or confirmation statement. It has been in this state for almost 6 months now and had a suspension of strike off action filed.

Should I be worried about working with this company?

Can a company stay in this state indefinitely, or are they being investigated?
