EIC by mistake

My employer put by mistake EIC payment on my w-2 2009. I got letter from IRS which says I owe that EIC amount (my accountant did`t show it on my taxes ). then employer gave me W-2-c without IEC payment. But now he say I owe him that money. Do I owe anyone (IRS or my employer) anything? Thanx
