We have a few clients who are located in empowerment zones, such as Philadelphia and Chicago, and I'm having a really hard time finding information on whether or not these are even still active. Does anyone know? I tried contacting several reps listed on the HUD website for the specific locations, and have only managed to speak with one in Philadelphia, who says that particular empowerment zone has been inactive since 2009.
On the instructions for the 2014 8844 all of the empowerment zones are listed, so you would *think* they are still active, but then the HUD website only has info through 12/31/2013.
I'm really spinning my wheels on this one! Can anyone provide any additional insight?
