Dear all,

I have contributed in last year’s solo 401k plan & the details are as below.
- I work as a independent contractor where the organization pays me & gives “1099” at the end of the year.
- As a example, say the income I earned last year was
= 25 K on W2
- Note: There is no 401K OR IRA or any other contribution from employer &
= 75 K on 1099

- As guided by my friends, I made the contributions towards "Solo 401K" last year december as below,
= $16,500 Employee contribution &
= 20% as a employer contribution
= Total not exceeding $49,000
= So the approximate amount came to,
-- $16,500.00 + $15,000.00 ? $31,500.00

As I am getting ready to file my tax returns (now filed for extension), now the question is,
- Which of the contributions above I can take the benefit of, to show as tax deductions
- Can I show all 31,500 towards the deductions (assuming I won’t be showing expenses)

One of my CPA friend suggested I wont be able to show the employee deductions (16,500) on Solo 401K plan.
Is this true? Ca somebody please explain in details the IRS rules on this.
Please provide me any more details & guidelines for this issue.

Thank
Sacrh
