USA I need bookkeeping application

Hello accountants- I Got used to using Intuit QB Pro desktop which is only available at a monthly ( or astronomical) rate now. Have any of you had this experience or helped someone who has? I have not been able to identify an alternative way to do my annual entries and then automate tax forms in a rational ( have a set of books and be able to export to tax preparation application ) way yet. It seems that I may be reduced to being forlorn in public again. I don't need all the features of QB Pro.
