Initial Stock Authorization

What is the journal for an initial stock authorization? No stock has been issued, but how do I record this on the balance sheet?

In my research, I have found that it does not have to be on the balance sheet, but it can be.

No JE is needed for initial stock authorization. Authorized stock data does appear on the formal balance sheet or the notes to the financials. Anyway, if you wish you could make a "memo entry" on your GL.
