Investing in a Partnership

Hello,
I have a question regarding investing in a Partnership company.

My question is can someone who is not a legal partner of a Partnership company invest in a partnership company and receive a share of the net income? Is it possible under IFRS? if it is possible under what principle of IFRS it is stated?
