Questions for hiring a freelance book-keeper

Hi everyone, I'm not sure where to post this so posting it here.

We are hiring a new freelance book-keeper and would like to know some good Qs we should ask them (along with some acceptable answers) that a good book-keeper should know?

You need to re-think this approach.
Example - if you were deciding to go to a new doctor would you test the doctor by asking how blood sepsis would be treated?
No. (and not because a doctor cannot be questioned - but because a thin knowledge on your part is useless to tell a good answer from a bad one)

So ask for referrals and follow up on those referrals.

and above all

NEVER give a bookkeeper unlimited access to your bucks (blank checks, bank acct security codes, etc)
