After three days of frustration trying to archive my 2009 transactions, I chatted with a Quicken customer support rep in India for about a half hour. But it WORKED! Here's what you do:

Go to File >>>> File Operations >>>>>Copy

Select the date range. (1/1/2009 – 12/31/2009)

Uncheck both options : Include all prior Uncleared transactions, Include all prior Investment transaction Click OK

You will get a message: FILE COPIED SUCCESSFULLY All the 2009 transactions are now removed from your current 2010 transactions. Ta da! Just go back to your current file.

Life is good. :)
