Telecommuting Question, please help

Hello,

I live in IL. I attend graduate school part-time in IL. I have a full-time job telecommuting job. The company that I work for is based in CA. Do I have to file taxes in both IL and CA?

I haven't established residency in IL i.e. I still have a CA driver's license.

If you earned any income from sources within IL, it appears you do. IL-1040 Instructions

states, in part, you must file if "you earned income from Illinois sources while you were not a resident"

You might read over the "Who must file" at the link above. The instructions also contain a definition of who is considered a resident.
