Hi,
Wondered if someone could help.
I have a UK based client that prints and sells clothing merchandise to bands.
He has a customer that is a US based merchandise retailer that sells custom merchandise to US bands. These bands tour UK and Europe.
My client is selling to his US customer but delivering the goods directly to their customers (the touring bands) when they are touring in the UK.
What is the VAT situation here? Selling goods to the USA would be zero rated generally but the goods aren’t officially leaving the UK so there would be no proof of export to satisfy this.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Ben
