Hi all,

First off I am not an accountant, so don't attack me to much :D

In regards to 1099-Misc and 1099-Int only (2013), I know that I need to issue Copy A, B, and C.

My question is do I need to issue a COPY 2? I will be writing 1099s from companies located in California and Nevada only. Zero amount tax withheld as well. Just box 7 was filled out for all.

This would save me a lot of time and paper if you could help.

Thank you,

Anthony

1099 has 5 parts
Copy A send to IRS by their deadline (usually end of Feb)
Copy 1 to the State by their deadline (usually same as IRS)
Copy B to the guy you paid by deadline (usually end of Jan)
Copy 2 to the guy you paid by deadline(usually end of Jan)
Copy C you keep

First, I note you said you said you have a lot to file, so be aware that IRS and states require electronic 1099 filing if over 250 forms.

and

Yeah, you need to send Copy 2 as the guy you paid needs it for his state return,
