I set up my Ltd company on 15/01/2013 via an accountant (who ended up very expensive) but have not yet registered as 'active' via HMRC, since formation I haven't been trading, I've been doing a BTEC Diploma within my Industry and this and other things have taken longer than expected as well as family issues.
What I was wondering is When do I need to contact HMRC? I was lead to believe I can stay 'Dormant' without registering with them until I gain my first contract which will hopefully be very soon as I'm planning a marketing campaign. I have bought most of my equipment within the last 2 months but, the sales went through my personal account as I don't as of yet have a Business Account set up.
I will be looking for an Accountants who are helpful and not going over the top with charges sometime soon.
I will be doing the books myself via Kashflow in order to keep the price down but obviously there are things that need doing that I probably can't do.
