C corporation stock certificates

Do you know if ownership in a privately owned C Corp has to be certificated?

I assume you are asking whether an actual paper certificate is required and since I don't know what country I will assume it's using US law. Probably no as to an actual paper certificate but check your individual state laws as they can differ ( I have a C corp in Delaware myself and no paper certificates). Today even public companies no longer issue them as its all electronic. See this link:
