I have a client who works PAYE, they are required to prepare a self assessment due to redundancy payment taking them over the additional rate threshold.
They have received dividend payments which are showing on the payslip however it is not clear if these specific amounts have been taxed.

In order to receive the dividend tax free allowance, this will need to be separated from employment income on the Self Assessment i am assuming.

Therefore am i right to deduct the amount of dividends received from the Taxable pay shown on the payslip?
Any advise greatly appreciated.

The self assessment form has different sections for earned income and unearned income - such as interest & dividends, so you should split it out accordingly.
