Hi,

I work for a limited company where the owner is also the MD.

They put a lot of personal expenses through the business, this could be business trips for the person but also the family! Car improvements, personal construction vehicle servicing and repairs, fuel etc, its quite a long list...

My point is, is what they are doing wrong and I know for a fact that the P11d that is filled in doesn't contain over half of what they they spend..

Should I shop them to HMRC?

Shop them if its worth it for you. Think about impact: what do you really gain?
Maybe you are better off just talking to the owner about the risks of his spending, give him/her a nice presentation, maybe a well placed warning will put more of his money in your pocket in the long run.

I think that you need to warn the MD that PAYE Investigations, carried out by HMRC, are on the rise and that if your company is investigated then these items will almost certainly be picked up!
