Hi everyone!
I just took over a local church's accounting. The minister is under the impression that a form 4361 was submitted for him about two years after he was ordained, which sounds about right as this form is required to be filled out two years after one begins his ministry.
I can find any evidence of this form in his records though. I'm a little uneasy that it may have never been completed.
At the time when this form would of been due, he was working for a church organization that told me they would take care of all this stuff for him. They issued W2 to him for several years that he was there and they listed $0 deductions from him pay.
So my question is, is a form 4361 something that the individual needs to submit or can it be done on a individual's behalf by the church that's paying him?
thanks.
Alex
