UK Tax Returns, Self Employed

I am wondering if someone could assist?

I have a friend who has registered to be self employed in March 2015, they are wondering would they need to submit a tax return for the 2015/2016 tax year? For the 4/5 weeks in the year that he was self employed and registered?

If anyone could help, I would appreciate it.

March 2015 falls in the 2014/15 tax year, and related tax returns would have been due on 31 January 2016. Sounds like they need to do some reading up on their filing responsibilities - here's a good place to start:
