Hi All,

I am a Project Accountant for a large oil corporation. My project accounting job involves a bit of cost accounting also (clearing variances, budget shuffling, WIP Aging etc.). I will be moving to the UK permanently in a few years' time but wondered if anyone knows if UK accounting departments have project accountants? I am wondering if i need to get cost accounting or general accounting (Staff Accountant) experience in case this makes more employable? I did think of doing my CPA (if i had time, was able to etc.) but doubt thats relevant in UK/Europe.

If anyone has any advice/tips, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Yes, there are project accountants in the UK. With respect to the courses, you should either take up ACCA or the CIMA to be in demand in your field.
