In Canada Canadians get a pension at 65+. Though do you think that pension will be around in lets say the year 2080?

Are there any examples in the world in any country when a government had a pension where citizens paid into their pension and than the government had to get rid of that pension because the government couldn't afford it and people won't get there pension after paying into it?

Thanks.

I'm not sure, but asking in an actuarial forum may help. Pension funding is an actuarial function more than an accounting one.

Check out the Actuarial Outpost or GoActuary in the pension forums. Those forums are frequented by FCIAs (Fellows of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries) as well as American actuaries.
