Good morning,

I am now a treasurer for a 501c3. We offer memberships for $24. Members don't really get anything specific in exchange for their membership dues. a few months ago, we decided to collect dues on Eventbrite, because it automates a few things for us.

However, Eventbrite charges fees. They either
1) Include the fees in the amount that people pay, so that they aren't aware of how much the fees are.
2) Charge them a fee on top of the ticket price so they know they are paying Eventbrite a percentage.

We went with option #1, people pay $24, and there are fees of about $3 that they are not aware of, so we get about $21.

So, in 2022, I would think members get to deduct $24 and not $21, is that correct?

Thanks

Yes, they paid $24, therefore they get a $24 deduction and your records would show they donated $24.
